Silver Navajo Squash Blossom
The squash blossom necklace was created in the late 1870s or early 1880s after the native people of the southwest made contact with the Spanish. Originally a Navajo design, the Zuni and Pueblo peoples quickly began making their own versions, resulting in squash blossom designs being closely associated with southwestern Native Americans. This one is Navajo, made of solid silver, and is from the 1950s.
