Japanese Netsuke Sculpture Pendant
Japanese Netsuke Sculpture Pendant
Hailing from 17th-century Japan, this hand sculpted Netsuke foot toggle features tiny bug carvings and holes for hanging it from your favorite chain or cord. As traditional kimonos lacked pockets, personal items such as medicine boxes or tobacco pouches were hung from obi sashes with silk cords. Netsuke served as weighted anchors to keep each cord from slipping.
