Derek Mckay Duncan (the "DMD" of DMD Metal) grew up in the midwest, the son of a printmaker and metalsmith.

Through the years, his creativity and design sense became a unique reflection of his parents' creative practices. Carefully using old world and modern methods of model making to capture rich and intimate detail, his designs hold a distinctive aesthetic that values the human hand in ancient methods, while in balance with modern execution.
